The Duluth Bethel team won two awards recently in the annual Head of the Lakes United Way Chili Cook-off in Duluth.

The Bethel team won second place in the professional division, made up of teams from local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

The Bethel chili also was recognized with the Most Unique award.

In all, businesses, organizations and groups offered event attendees the chance to sample 21 different types of chili to raise money for the Head of the Lakes United Way, which oversees charitable activity in the Twin Ports region.

This was the 27th year for the cook-off, held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. All funds benefit the United Way.
